READ! VERY IMPORTANT! The Administrators choose what power level the spell goes under if it is accepted. After your spell has been approved, check the spells list to see what year it falls under, because you might not get to use it right away

I'm an idiot sadly because I should have done this first, before making my topic. I can always unflag it as a keep if it's in violation, and let you kill it on the first of May when you purge everything.
Spell Name: Training Flags Charm (but more commonly referred to as IFF, since the spell was created based off a piece of muggle tech called IFF) Spell Type: Charm Incantation: "Amicus Vel Inimicus" It's never used in that form though, and simply "Amicus vel inimicus" will do nothing. It's either "Amicus vel inimicus, de unum" or "Amicus vel inimicus, de duos", to apply either an unum (1) flag or a duos (2) flag. Effect: If an enchanted object is flagged, it will attack the opposite flag type. If a non-enchanted object is flagged, it will act as a target for enchanted objects flagged with the opposite flag. Wizards can wear target flags to practice dodging attack spells without the risk of getting hit by a real attack spell. If a wizard wears a target flag, a simple wave of their wand will release an inert spell (green for an unum flag, red for a duos flag), and these spells will disable the opposite flag if they strike a flagged target. Quidditch players can practice dodging bludgers without using live bludgers that can cause serious injury. (Using IFF to tamper with bludgers in a game is penalized the same way using any other spell to tamper with bludgers would be) Counter: "Amicus vel inimicus, de nada". It actually applies a neutral flag (0) to overwrite a (1) or a (2) that is present. Also the (1) spells deactivate (2) flags and vice versa. Spells and flags treat unflagged objects as a (0) so that's why the nada flag is a counter. Can also be removed with all-purpose charm removing spells. I'll make another RP scenario but check out My Kind of Fighting for how I plan on using it. -------------------------------------------------------- The Ravenclaw team convened on the Quidditch pitch for a Saturday practice before their game with Slytherin on Sunday. The Seeker, also the team's captain, held two lightweight balls that looked like Bludgers in his hands. "Okay team, listen up. Slytherin likes to attack the enemy Chasers using the Bludgers. They win by outscoring everyone by a lot with the Quaffle since their Beaters neutralize the enemy Chasers. So I've got an exercise to train us for this. Chasers, I want you guys to go up and do passing drills. I'm gonna cast IFF marks so that we can use these fake foam bludgers in drill." "Why are we using that method? Sounds like a lot of extra work. Why don't we just use real bludgers?" one of the team asked. "Because, first off I want to see up close how you guys are dodging them. If there's live bludgers up there, they'll attack me too, and I'm not the one practicing to dodge bludgers. Second, these are lightweight, so if you get hit, you won't break your arm or fall off your broom. Gryffindor's already lost a chaser to a training accident, I'm not gonna let it happen to us too." "Chasers, did you all wear jewelry like I asked?" the captain asked. "I did." "Yep." "Sure did." "Okay, show them." One chaser, a male, lifted a gold chain with a cross on it out from inside his robes. A second, a female, held her right hand out, which was adorned with a ring. A third, another female, held out her left arm on which she wore a watch. "Amicus vel inimicus, de unum," the captain spoke out as he pointed his wand toward each piece of jewelry in turn. Each glowed green for about a half second and then ceased. "Now go, start passing drills, and remember, avoid the bludgers!" As the team started their drills, the captain turned back to his lightweight balls. In turn, he pointed his wand at them and said, "Amicus vel inimicus, de duos". The fake bludgers glowed red for a half second, then took to the sky, quickly locking on to Ravenclaw chasers. As the chasers passed the quaffle around, the fake bludgers started to interfere. One chaser quickly dodged left to avoid a bludger coming from his front. Another did a barrel roll to avoid one coming from the side. The captain flew up into the air to get a better look at his team. One of the fake bludgers flew right past him as he climbed, ignoring him completely and going for the chaser up and to his right. "Steph, incoming on your seven!" the male chaser called out to one of the females. A fake bludger was coming in at her, one that she didn't see until it was too late. It struck her in the elbow at high speed as she rushed forward to avoid it. "Everyone down!" the captain called out. "Amicus vel inimicus, de nada!" The flags on the fake bludgers were replaced with nada flags, and they simply hovered in air as he flew out and gathered them before returning to ground. "Now, do you see why IFF is useful? Steph would have broken her elbow easily from that if it was a real bludger. But because I used IFF instead of live bludgers, we have a full squad for tomorrow, and we might manage to beat Slytherin and win the Quidditch Cup." First off, take five points for Ravenclaw for using the dummies as Sevens. I liked that
Second, in that thread, you're not using the KEEP prefix correctly. Click Edit on your first post (i.e. the opening post of the thread), click Go Advanced, and then there will be a dropdown menu of prefixes next to where you type the thread title. The default is "no prefix", which is what we use until an end of term comes. The rest of the options are Jan-Apr KEEP (the one to use for this term), May-Aug KEEP, and Sep-Dec KEEP. Each prefix is styled differently so the staff knows what threads to keep for this term while which threads were KEEPs for the last term![]() Now on to the spell! I like it. What do my Admins and Mods think?

Umm, quick reply to the KEEP issue. It worked fine on a thread that had no replies, but when I changed it on one that did, the prefix menu and the main title didn't appear, even in Go Advanced. Are those just counted for the internal title then, or will you look into changing that?

I edited the first post, I clicked "Go Advanced", found the title...but there was no prefix box. That's why I did it the way I did, so it was at least labeled somehow.

Jayce, what is the thread in question, and what forum is it in? The prefixes are not available in any Out Of Character forums.

I haven't got the prefix box for any of my characters either. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

Okay, I think I have it fixed now. I've already added the prefix to that thread, but just to be sure, if no one minds, I'd like all of you to check it again. Make sure it's the first post of the thread that you're editing.
